Gustav Holst - The Planets

The Planets, is a seven-movement orchestral suite by the English composer Gustav Holst, written between 1914 and 1916. Each movement of the suite is named after a planet of the Solar System.

From its premiere to the present day, the suite has been enduringly popular, influential, widely performed and frequently recorded.

The National Symphony Orchestra of ERT performed  "The Planets" at the Stavros Niarchos Hall of the National Opera for an interplanetary musical journey under the music direction of Nikos Haliasas.

Also the video “Helios” was presented at the concert “HEAVENLY!”  by the Springfield Symphony Orchestra in Massachusetts – USA .

The video screened during the concerts was directed and produced by Theofanis Matsopoulos.

The video travels the audience to the Sun and the Planets, using impressive images and visualizations of the latest observations of our Solar System. An exciting journey that aspires to impress and enchant the audience that will watch it.
